In the continuing effort to find why SyncBack Free V6 is much slower than SyncBack V3 I removed both programs from my W7 laptop and reinstalled V6 and then V3 after running CCleaner and rebooting. V6 locked up after entering the profile name. Removed and reinstalled V6 which went ok this time.
My export of old profiles from V3 went wrong so I made new profiles in V3. I used the backup profiles to backup Documents to a USB2 HDD. Documents has about 1072722 files.
V3 took 7:30 to complete the profile.
I used the default backup profile in V6. Simulated runs.
The first scan took 28:52 for half of the source, 500,000 files in the W7 laptop.
The second scan took 3:00 for 82,000 files so it is about the same speed.
I then ticked “do not use filters” and do not use selections file and folder selection”
This scan took 1:54 to scan 500,000 files in the source, 4:35 to completely scan the source and the destination scan was finished in 9:51. Total time from start to end was 14.26 compared to V3 time of 7:30 using file/folder selections.
I then repeated scans to see if the scan time changed. Remember that the first scan took 1:54 to scan half of the source.

5- “ -1:01
6- “ -1:01
Source scan completed in 3:18 and destination done in > 8:00
I then imported my V3 profiles into V6 so these were run using my file/folder selections which in the case of a backup was to copy them all.
The first run of my imported V3 profiles in V6, mirror right, scanned ½ the source in 3:15.

V6 scans my Documents in 26:03 using my imported V3 profile but later on after changing filter, file, folder settings it took 15:50 to scan ½ of the source???
Starting with a “clean” pc, in W7 produced similar results as scanning from my XP to W7 computers. Any suggestions or information on the program operation that might help my understanding on what is happening?
