Upgrade to V6 did NOT remove the old version

My previous version was 3.2.26.0. When I upgraded to V.6, I found that the old version was not over written and continues to run in tandem with the new version.

Why didnt the new version over write the old version and how can I remove the old version without affecting the new version?
