I'm describing a random but repetitive bug. When I start a profile backup with the Run button, this version will randomly lose itself when scanning the profile files and directories. I can see that it loses itself because it never reports the directory and file names it is scanning. But it will continue scanning aimlessly indefinitely in this lost/suspended mode--I don't know how long because my patience runs out. When I press the STOP button, Syncback doesn't know how to stop. It continues ad infinitum without a resolution. The STOP button is useless--totally so. Here's where the problems begin: The Syncback scanning process is resource intensive, I can't stop it, and although I have functional use of the PC, everything is dragging because Syncback is stupid. I've tried to use Task Manager to abort/terminate Syncback--won't respond. Won't respond to attempts to close application. Sooner or later, I have a backlog of shut-down commands, End process, and Syncback continues in its stupid state. Then the PC is frozen, a disk I/O error appears, and I have to turn off the power on the power strip. A Chkdsk is mandatory on the restart. Bottom line: Syncback v.6.3.7 is utterly useless and unreliable. I'm returning to version 3.2.26; I used that for years with never a problem. You can't convince me to upgrade with problems like this!
