Re: Viewing Log Files

It's nothing you've done in SyncBackSE (thus, nothing in SE you can 'change back'). SE doesn't specify the application to use, it simply asks Windows to open the log file by passing the path\filename to it. Windows itself decides which application to use c/o 'file associations' (what app to use for a .HTML or .TXT file, etcetera) based on the file extension.

TBH, I would have thought if .HTML files are associated with Word, you'd maybe have other (web-based) oddities, too. But it definitely looks that way if HTML log files are opening in Word. As I said, that's your system's decision (settings), not SE's.

http://www.winvistaclub.com/t19.html has some generic instructions how to change file associations in recent versions of Windows. If you're using XP (etc) or would prefer some more specific instructions, GIYF :)
