Check the contextual Help for the Login/Logout settings page (press F1 with page open) and note the comment under that setting
Due to changes introduced in Windows Vista, a profile set to run on shutdown/logoff must be run unattended.
Vista-and-later (thus, Windows 7) do not permit user interaction at that stage of the shutdown/logoff. Hence we do not try to display the Differences window, because you couldn't see it or respond to it anyway, hence the program would stall.
Sounds to me like you are trying to do this with a Backup or Mirror profile but using the Synchronise settings on Decisions-Files (top section, option-3). If so, your profile may be listed as 'Synchronize' or 'Custom'. Such profiles have no state-history, thus cannot tell the difference between new files on one side and deletions on the other, so have to be set to either 'kill regardless' or 'copy regardless' (sounds like you have the latter).
If you start with a SmartSync profile to begin with, you may find the problems go away. If not, you'd need to sign up for ticketed support and submit a Support Zip of your profile.
