Yes (at least a test I did here on Monday with the numbers reversed - starting 'wrongly' with '7' and changing to '1' - worked fine
Bear in mind that the log of the run you are doing now (or just did, whatever) will show it backed up to \1\ and not \7\ - because that was the folder's name at the time, because that was the setting*. You'll need to remember that until that log expires
* and the log of my test shows the converse ('7', not '1'), because so were my settings...
