(There is no restriction on users discussing 'best practice' amongst themselves).
You may wish to read up on Fast Backup in the Knowledge Base first (searching on 'fast' will find quite a few). Asking questions that suggest/demonstrate you have not done so are less likely to attract lengthy replies...
