Re: 7-days incremental backup AND keep a previous full backu

The problem is that %DAYOFWEEK% is the largest fixed-cycle (it's always 1-7) calendar-based Variable - the larger available calendar functions all have downsides. Days-of-the-month are non-standard (sometimes months don't contain 29, 30 or 31), and there's no 'fortnight' Variable (because who decides which is day 1/14?). %WEEKODDOREVEN% can go from 53 to 1 at the end of the year (ISO Years can contain 53 ISO Weeks - see the Help, or Google), thus delivering the same value two weeks in a row (argh). Plus, you can't trigger Force Rescan on a combination of values, so you couldn't trigger a full backup on %DAYOFWEEK%=1 AND %WEEKODDOREVEN%="O" - for example.

All the built-in 'external reference' Variables are calendar/clock-based. But unfortunately, 'planets' have their own rules, fractional values, inconstant ranges, rounding, etc.

In the Pro version, you can create your own custom Variables (for example, that cycle from 1-14...) using installable scripting, and also set the script to Force Rescan if that Variable equals AnyValueYouLike - but not in the SE version. You can upgrade for US$20 from an SE license, and can install Pro in parallel with SE for 30 days free to experiment first...

Note that we don't write bespoke scripts for people, nor provide bespoke assistance in doing so. We provide the scripting facility, the Scripting section in the Help, and the examples provided in the Pro program folder* and the scripting page of the website. The rest is up to the user...

* not all scripts in the Pro program folder are installable. Some are 'callable' (for use in Programs-Before, or similar) and/or stand-alone.
