Re: Speed Issues and Folder Gaining System Attribute?

I found out the catch to the speed boost last night (Or perhaps it's just a fact of life regardless of engine.) While big files move speedily along, a few hundred thousand smaller files (Which of course I didn't think to test for) are apparently another story entirely. The speed tanked whenever it was going through many smaller files.

Now, I did go ahead and turn on File Verification and Safe Copy (And Fast Backup, for what that's worth.) But I'm curious if it really had to take over 10 hours to copy everything, or if I could have sped things up by using a different copying type for smaller files or some other trick. Because that was not even everything I had to backup, just a big chunk of it.

Also of concern, I noticed that of the over 300,000 files copied, maybe 1% of them (Over 3,000), at least that I've found so far by searching for files created today, did NOT maintain their original file creation date (I think folders were all okay and this was just files.) Now this isn't TOO big of a deal since I knew I would need to make a second pass with Robocopy anyway to fix the folder times, but it's still concerning.

Speaking of Robocopy, I noticed the reason given for not having an option to maintain folder modification dates was that they were immediately changed upon adding files, but Robocopy has a timefix switch (/timfix) that can be used to just modify file and folder dates without copying anything. Could a similar Timefix option be implemented in SyncBack?
