Note that you can't connect to the same \\server from the same client using two sets of credentials at once (and Windows usually doesn't even try - it just re-uses 'current', which may not have the privileges for what the 2nd process is trying to do).
Every test have been launch without any existing cached connection by UNC nor Drive letter nor anything. If no connection exists, and the "Test" is successful, then right-click and Open Destination should work ?
Maybe Test is actually creating a connection that breaks "Standard syncback connection" so I tried, reboot, "not" testing before each modification, Open still doesn't work.

Did you try toggling which credentials first (Network > Advanced)?
Tried domain\username and server\username without success.
Tried toggling successively every checkbox in Network>Advanced tab without success.
I'll try on a Win7 computer soon, keep you in touch.
