Re: Force a full backup when archive bit used

I don't seem able to edit my posts..

Just to add about the full rescan option. Using a desktop shortcut is not a viable option, this should be right-there-in-the-program, where the profiles/tasks are.
On the other hand using the force rescan button in the edit-profile dialog involves clicking way too many confirmation dialogs and steps. This is one of the few things I find strangely confusing and "buried".
It should be more direct option - a toolbar button and context menu option "Force Full Rescan..." leading to only one confirmation dialog, eventually consisting of settings (radiobuttons..) or buttons to choose either immediate execution or queued for the next run (as it is now). And that should be all.

As to scanning the destination with FB selected. Yes, I got it. But I was confused a bit because I used the single ZIP file method. Maybe there should be some exception when a single destination Zip is used, to at least check if the destination ZIP file (single file) still exists. A simple check. And if it doesn't then propose to create full archive and warn that the destination doesn't exist. It is just one file and it could be easily deleted, and subsequent runs of the profile could leave us with no backup at all where we count on the profile.
Yes, we should not touch or modify the destination, but mistakes happen and with just a single file it is way more possible and dangerous this to happen. Software, especially backup/security software, is all about protecting some data, even working against some human imperfections that could lead to data loss.
This could make SB more secure and appealing.
For now I decided to use a combination of bat files and a command line version of one archiver that supports all the options I need and it is not zip :) .
I find SB the best of all I tried and would like to see it complete with these recommendations one day :) .
