I am also trying to find a way to protect against cryptoLocker. I store my backups on a local NAS and a copy to Amazon. The virus can't get to Amazon but SyncBack would gladly infect Amazon for me by syncing the NAS files when it's time to sync to Amazon.
I also had the idea of using the concept of "number of files". Now that we know that won't work, any other ideas?
I originally thought that versioning would save me. But now I think the virus will simply encrypt the files in my SBV directories.
Ideas?
