medimus, I see your problem and having similar situation myself.
Here is what I've been doing.
I make it so that the main copy is always on the NAS and edit the file there whenever possible, like when my laptop is on the LAN where the NAS is located.
An offline copy is periodically copied to each of my laptops, say daily or weekly (depending the laptop), using SyncBack. I have it configured that nothing is deleted from the laptop when the automated job is run. This way nothing is accidentally deleted.
When I am away and have updated the offline copy (the one on the laptop); upon returning to the LAN, I run a separate job that syncs the changes to the NAS, prompting me what to do about the files that only exist on the NAS and not on the laptop (basically a file that I've since delete while away). This way I can choose what is removed from the NAS.
