Re: What's A Good Backup Strategy?

I'm sorry, but we do not provide "best methods" to customers. What may work for one user may not work well for others, hence there is no 'best'. We supply the backup software; it is up to you to strategize and think of a 'best method' that best suits your needs/scenario.

I have a E: to F: mirror upon shutdown profile set up and manually stopped it after this problem happened but what happens if I don't realize a drive has errors or stop the profile in time? Hopefully there's a failsafe method.

Whether SyncBack will continue to run or stop really depends on the error encountered. For example, if the ext HDD can't be detected at all/unconnectable, SyncBack will likely stop as it couldn't reach the intended target.

The software's objective is to copy/back up files, not to second-guess hardware failures reported back to us by Windows. If your HDD is corrupted, suggest changing it.

Yes (not just Serials - %SERIAL=?%, but Labels - %LABEL=?%, see Help on Alternatives under Modify > Simple in SE/Pro).

SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro can be downloaded for a 30-day evaluation so that you can test this out for yourself.
