Re: How can I skip scanning the destination before backup?

Yes, you can consider enabling Fast Backup (Modify > Expert > Fast Backup) which avoids scanning the Destination. Instead, Fast Backup keeps a state database and keeps track of which files were copied last run, or detects which files should be copied during this run c/o the archive bit option.

Note that Fast Backup does not have any effect on the actual copy speed but only the scan times, although this could reduce the backup time significantly.

Fast Backup must not be used in a profile where the Destination could be modified by other users or processes (including another profile). That is, the Destination of your Fast Backup must only be exclusively handled by the profile in question itself. Otherwise, there can be loss of data when the database kept by the Fast Backup profile does not match with the Destination.

The contextual Help that comes with SyncBackSE (press F1 with Fast Backup settings page opened), as well as our Knowledge Base contains a wealth of articles that explains the use of Fast Backup which you can refer to.

Here are some Knowledge Base articles on Fast Backups that you should review to better understand the use of Fast Backup option:
