I have backup profiles set to run On Insert of an external HDD identified by volume serial number. If I start SyncBack SE manually this works perfectly, the insert of the HDD is detected by SBSE and the profiles run.
If I set SBSE to Start With Windows and then insert the HDD the profiles are not triggered, even though SBSE is running. Autoplay detects the drive and the drive is fully accessible in Windows Explorer.
I have raised this with 2BrightSparks support and sent them screen prints and log files. They confirm all the settings are OK but they have been unable to provide an answer. Their final suggestion is a reinstall or repair of W7 but I am sceptical this will help and would be reluctant to do it anyway.
The log files show SBSE being triggered by the HDD insert if it has been started manually:
09:40:57=main.TfrmMain.NewDrive.8855:Drive added [R]
But this line does not appear in the log if SBSE has been started with Windows. So either SBSE is not receiving or registering this event, or W7 is not generating or passing it on to SBSE (but as autoplay is triggered the event is being detected by W7).
I have tried identifying the HDD by drive letter, and tried a different external USB device with the same results. I have tried using different USB ports including both USB3.0 and USB2.0 again with the same results.
There is only one user on the PC affected and the user has administrator rights.
2BrightSparks say they have a W7 Pro installation and cannot replicate the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can anyone offer ideas or a solution?
