Hi
I'd already Approved post #1 by the time I saw post #2 (they're usually duplicates, and I just assumed...). I've Merged them here for continuity.
Not sure of your 'answer' (that is, 'the problem'), though, as I just fired up the old XP PC (it's the only 'real' other PC I have handy - the others are all VMs), and
Source P:\Commas (<<< Windows 7 Ultimate - main PC)
Destination \\DWHOME\Test LAN Dest (<<< old XP PC)
14:19:40 \this, contains, commas, path\New Text Document.txt Copied to Destination
14:19:40 \2009-08-23 reston, leesburg, asheville, big canoe, atlanta\New Microsoft Word Document.docx
Those folders containing commas did not exist on the Destination previously. QED, the profile created them, across a standard network, to a Windows PC (albeit a different Windows version)
It might be the laptop itself doesn't like it (is it by any chance non-Windows?). Or, a glitch in one or the other NIC drivers (or, the router). It doesn't seem to be a universal restriction (viz., it works fine for me), and certainly isn't a restriction in SyncBackPro.
