My PCs are automatically set to turn on at 7 in the morning. There is a setting for this in the BIOS.
SyncBack then runs a group a little bit later.
By the time I get to the PCs, they have run a backup from one to the other.
If I reboot either later in the day, they will not run a backup.
The key to this is that I know that the PCs will be at a particular time of the day.
If I wanted to be really tricksy, I could set one to turn itself on, and then have a scheduled Wake-up-on-LAN call to wake up the second PC.
