I won't pursue this any further as I understand your points, but I would like to make one final comment. No response necessary.
I was a PC tech for 14 years and installed cloud backup by request on many, many computers. This feature was always tauted by my clients as being very reassuring, which is what backup is all about to people. They loved to see that their files really were safe. No one reads logs.
My suggestion to the multiple backup scenario (and I, personally back up to both NAS and cloud) is to allow one choice. If you choose a USB drive destination, a NAS destination, or a cloud destination, then that's what gets flagged. I suspect most users will likely only have one destination.
