Having safe mode disabled made little difference to the time taken for a scan but disabling the sub dir file/filters did speed up the scan. From 49 minutes to 8 minutes. Sorry if I gave you the wrong idea.
What is the difference between versions so that when v3 and v6 are set up the same, v6 takes much longer? If there was a problem with my pc's or network then the slow down would effect both versions? The source is the pc with XP. I assume that as V3 is quick, that my "system" is fine. One thing I havent tried is disabling my firewall etc to see if there is a change.
