No System or Program files like I saw in your log. I also use that external HDD to sync those same data files with my laptop. Doing it this way means I have my data stored on 3 HDDs, which makes me feel secure in case one of them fails.
My laptop runs Win7 Pro x64 and once a month I use the Win7 built-in Backup and Restore utility to create a full disk image. My older desktop (my wife's primary PC) runs WinXP Pro and I have a separate disk imaging program installed on it. I run a full disk image on it once a month and incremental images weekly in between.
Different users will have different backup routines, but this has worked well for me.
Thanks for the information Gary. So you just set a profile for the directories you want and run that profile and it updates the changed files in those directories? Can you restore selective files if you want? and does it keep copies of the old files when you do an incremental backup? Say you did 5 backups, and you needed to get a file from the 3rd backup, can you restore just that older file?
