This morning I noticed a clear case of my file being moved to backup location instead of being copied there.
The file is new, I just created it yesterday, meaning that there was no such file on Destination at that time. The profile was executed by SB at 2:00 AM today.
My profile type is classic "Backup". It says that files that exist on Source but not on Destination have to be copied to Destination. I also have versioning enabled for Destination, asking it to keep 10 copies for 365 days. Everything else is set to default values.
This morning I discovered that the file is gone from it original location, while a copy of that file exists in the backup location. Meanwhile, the SB log file for that last run states that the file in question was copied to the Destination. However, the file is gone from the Source (???)
Besides SB misbehaving, the only way something like that could have happened is if someone deleted the file manually after the backup was completed by SB. However, nobody touched the computer after 2:00 AM. And the first thing I noticed the morning was that the file is gone. So, beyond any reasonable doubt, it was SB that deleted the file.
I, of course, was able to restore it from the backup.
