Re: Set date to new
That should be happening by default (we don't have any code to do it). Windows normally does that anyway (stamps files 'as of' the date/time that copy was Created). Hence we only have an option to...
View ArticleRe: Set date to new
SBP copies the original creation time (that's the usual way, of course!). At the moment I manually set the creation-time to "now" (using DirOpus as filemanager) and then move all files via SBP to HTPC...
View ArticleRe: Set date to new
SB doesn't normally specifically copy (set) the creation stamp from the Source - it just copies 'the file' via a Windows API (assuming copying to a disk or UNC path). The Destination OS/firmware...

PS: I out-thunk myself on that last post. You obviously wouldn't need the Source stamp, just set the .DateCreated on Destination to Now

View ArticleRe: Set date to new
First, thank you for the good help. I've checked the profile again, "copy source stamp" is not active and I can write a script which sets creation-time to "now" on source using DirOpus cmd-parameters...
View ArticleRe: Set date to new
.DateCreated is not part of SB - it is one of the properties of a file object in FSO (in VBScript). But on reflection I don't think you can set that property using FSO, sorry. You might need to Google...
View ArticleRe: Set date to new
Ok, as said, best solution is to create a script using DirOpus command, as it is also installed on the HTPC (BTW works perfect together with portable SBP ). Thanks again.

Actually, the above is the way forward (if you want to avoid lots of empty 'spam' Dest folders), but you'd need to couple it with a mechanism that can remember files that were previously copied, so...

Well, yeah, if I had to sit down and write script that would nullify the point of the program, I did just do simple md5 comparison (since files are small) and that is. Point was to do that via...
