I have been trying unsuccessfully to do a mirror backup on my new free-standing 1Tb hard disk. I ensure that no programmes are open when I do the backup. I repeatedly get 24-34 critical errors. Simulated runs work perfectly.
Here is an example: Failed to copy from Source : File is locked (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\NtUser.dat.LOG): The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
I realise that this is probably due to programmes running in the background. I tried switching off Skype, Trusteer, antivirus, but this made little difference.
I use WindowsXP; Syncback V6.4.3.8
I am desperate as I suspect my hard disk may be near terminal.
Any advice would be welcome
