Symbolic Links aren't recognized in choose directory tree

I recently linked all of my games to my Dropbox account using symbolic links, and although a program I have backs up most of the files, I need to perform one manually. When I go to the directory that these folders are in (there are also files in the same directory) and open the "Choose sub-directories and files" option, the symbolic links are not shown, although all of the files in that directory are. I also tested this issue by creating a real folder inside of this directory, and it DID show up in the directory tree.

Is this a known issue? Is there any fix? Thanks for any help
