Best solution? Move backup data DVDs to a new external drive

I have around 300 DVD backups of files stored on my system. I would really like to move all of this data onto a new external drive which I purchased last week, and I think SyncBack can help. Please note that this external drive is not the only backup I have, I just want to eliminate the backup DVD process.

I need some advice, how would you do it?

In my head Im asking myself the following:
Do I create ISO images of each disc?
Do I use Syncback to just copy all data from the disc into a new folder?
Could I use Syncback and a script to create a new folder for each disc I place in the drive?

I need some help from the experts. I usually find a great idea when I am 75% through doing things the long way, so I thought this time I would ask the question rather than jumping straight in.
