Hi,
i am looking for a Carbon Copy Cloner replacement for Windows.
I need a tool which is easy to use because a few of our camera guys who aren`t IT folks need to do organize our backups with this tool.
Let me describe what needs to be done:
Usually when our camera guys are on the road they carry a bunch of external harddrive sets with them (each set consits of 2 harddrives e.g 1A/1B)
When they took a few shots with a camera they copy the stuff from the internal storage device of the camera to one of the external harddrives and after that make a 1:1 copy of that harddrive (1A) to another one (1B)
What CCC made so special was the ability to set and configure a profile while still be able to select the source and the destination on your own. With SyncBack Pro i would like to achieve the same, which means i would like to create a profile where everything is set up properly make a shortcut on the desktop and when one of our camera guys clicks it all he needs to do is to select the proper source and destination driveletter hit the Go button and be done with it. Unfortuantely this doesn`t seem possible or are there any variables/placeholder i can put into the Source Destination boxes to achieve that?
Another thing that was really helpful with CCC was whenever CCC noticed that there were files on the destination that the source drive didn`t contain or if lets say there was a newer verson of a file on the source drive it created a folder named CCC_Archive on the root of the destination harddrive and moved the data that were otherwise be overwritten/replaced into that folder so that nothing will be deleted accidently.
I figured that SyncBack Pro has the versioning feature which seems to be more or less the same. Is that what i described with CC doable with the versioning feature in SyncBack Pro?
Many thanks in advance for your helpful replies.
P.S: Excuse my bad english i am not a native speaker.
Regards
Dennis
