There are options to Delete all files/folders on [Side] before scanning commences (see Copy/Delete > Advanced) as well as MOVE deleted local files to the Recycle Bin (see File copying method - Windows Explorer method...) but there's no option to delete Recycle Bin contents prior to scanning.

I would like an ERROR-FREE report, because the boss would like to know that his data is safe and sound and he will HAVE an instantaneous backup right at hand should something go south. I'd like that piece of mind, too [G].

Let's start with the warnings list. Had 340 of them, all listing "The file may have been deleted between the time it was scanned and the attempt to copy it was made" as the reason for the trigger. SOME of those were in temp caches in internet access. I THOUGHT I had eliminated them but I get things like \Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\CryptnetUrlCache\Content\meaninglessChars. There are also issues with some links and bits and pieces of Windows\System32 and other things. A rights issue? Whatever, how do I freeze them out?

Such error messages are (usually) caused by temp/log files which were present during scan time but have since been deleted (or moved) prior to/during copy stage by something else before they could be copied.

You can try enabling "If a file cannot be copied because it was deleted before it could be copied then make it a warning and not a failure" under

Modify > Log

to record them as warnings instead.

However, bear in mind that these events could also symptomatic of disk errors, so by default we set such events as Errors. It is up to you to decide whether these errors are 'routine system behavior' or something else.

G_M_Mugford wrote:All of them are DLL files and/or setup files of CAB and MSI kinds. For example, the error message starts: Failed to copy from CAppsDataMyDox : Cannot copy file (3): The system cannot find the path specified XXXXX. There IS NO path XXXXX (or whatever)

Bear in mind that SyncBack is not designed to (and cannot) make an exact copy of a system drive. More info here:

Are you referring to Ignored files only or Skipped files too?

Modify > Expert > Log

- disable "Log the reason why files/folders on [Side] are ignored/skipped" if enabled/checked

and

- enable "Do not log skipped files or folders" (if you do not want to log skipped files, otherwise just ignore this step)
