If the device does not natively mount using Mass Storage Class protocol (basically, allocated a drive letter) it's not currently supported. There's no patch unless your device has a hidden/alternate connection mode to mount using MSC (some do), but many now only mount as a portable device, via Media Transfer Protocol (and/or PTP), which we don't.
AFAIK (the manufacturers don't apparently explain much), this is because MSC 'exposes' the device to such things as formatting, whereas MTP/PTP are much more locked down (and thus, add extra headaches / require different methods when trying to automate stuff, compared to a 'real' drive)
MTP/PTP support may be added in due course, but no promises or ETA, sorry.
