SyncBackPro downloads the native Docs files without extensions because it sees the files as-is on the cloud server. For example: "TestFile" with just the name of the file without any extension and that is what's listed on the Cloud service. Since, there is no extension for the downloaded file, the user(or Windows) may not know exact file format(of that downloaded file) to open/view it.
However, if you rename those files with proper extension(example .doc) on Google Drive, manually(prior to the download), the files gets downloaded with extensions and can be opened/viewed automatically using their default editor.
