Hi,

There is no folder concept in Amazon S3 (and other cloud services like Azure, Google Storage etc.,). S3 stores data as objects. When you upload an object to S3 server, the name of the object itself contains the actual path to the file e.g. \Folder1\Folder\MyFile.txt, thus it allows to create a virtual folder structure on the server.

In case, you want to create an empty folder on S3 then a hidden object with full path to the file must be created, hence this option is not supported with SyncBackPro. Please refer to this link for additional details:

hi

1) can i setup a profile to run only when my pc is idle
in when -> changes -> i add these settings 600 seconds (10 minutes) and check idle , is it the right settings?

2) can i avoid a profile running when a program is active?
for example wait when firefox.exe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe are not running

hi
sadly i can edit my prev post

in short i would like

to sync when
1) source are changed
And
2) when my comptuer is idle
and
3) when a program is not working

in short AND , i need all of these events to be true

Hello,

I've searched but I think I must be searching for the wrong terms.

I'm looking to keep 30days worth of files in a folder on the source of a backup job. Is there a way to do this inside a single backup job or would I need to run some sort of preparation job before running the backup job?

I sync my important files to a slave drive on my main computer.

Can I also syn to a networked computer so I have a set on a completely different computer in case my main computer crashes both of it's drives or is destroyed somehow?

so I realized Syncback wasn't backing anything up for a long time. The tasks were in Task Scheduler, but not running. I updated to the newest version... no luck. I read up on people having the same issue so I tried several suggestions... none worked. So, I deleted Syncback and all profiles... redownloaded and installed syncback. Then I recreated my profiles. They still are not appearing in Task Scheduler (I did refresh).

Hi,

You can create a 'Housekeeping' profile in SyncBack to delete older files from a folder based on their last modification (or creation) date/time stamps. Please read this forum post for details on creating and configuring a housekeeping profile:

Hi,

Yes, create a new profile in SyncBackFree with source pointing your files on the main computer and destination to a network drive using UNC path (\\HostName\ShareName\ or \\IPAddress\ShareName\). If your network system/device requires a username and password credentials to connect to it, you may need to save these credentials under:

Modify profile > Expert > Network > enter the credentials to connect to your network

Please read the footnotes provided in the Help > Expert > Network settings page to understand and try the different ways of entering the username credential in the username field and use the "Test Connection" button available in the Network settings page to ensure the connection work as expected, before running the profile.

Hi,

To view the schedule task:

Expand SyncBackFree node (from the Task Scheduler) > click on ''User Name/Computername' > the schedule task (if present) will be shown in the center panel.

Hello,

When I run IMAP backup task (OVH mailbox) in mode "run (unattended)", backup process time is 4 minutes.
When the task is executed by windows task scheduler, backup process time is 7 hours :x
=> What is the problem ?

I am using Syncback SE V6.5.48.0

I have a directory full of files and subfolders. I am creating a Backup profile to copy only FILES that end in RFA and contain D3.

I have these filters:

*\
*D3*.rfa

It copies files that contain D3, but it also copies files in FOLDERS that contain D3 in the name of the folder - But those files do not contain D3.

How can I copy just the files, but still search all subfolders?

Hi,
I am testing syncback as I am frustrated by FBackup removing all permissions from files on a restore.
So far it all looks very good.
One question that I have is;
Using Windows clients, all files within folders have the correct modified dates when copied to/from a QNAP NAS, but the Created Date is the current date when the files are mirror copied up to the NAS and same when restored to the computer. This plays havoc with photos that do not have EXIF data.
Is there any way that folders/files can maintain their original dates (as the way that MS Richcopy does)?
Do I need a paid version to do achieve this? I did see an option greyed out buried in the expert menus.
Will this option also allow existing folders being copied to retain their original dates or are those set to the current date regardless?

Does anybody know the path for the external SD card in a Galaxy Note 4 on Android 6.01?
I cannot find the external card when I try to allocate a source in a new profile I am offered the internal card. I have already enabled the external card in Touch.

Hi,

Have a look under the '/storage' folder under the root folder. In there there should be another folded named in xxxx-xxxx format which points to the actual external SD card.
