I'm still not 100% clear if you're using SE or not (bear in mind both Free & SE & Pro all exist in V6 and can be called "SB" for short)
And Vista (it's in a VM now - just checked) certainly asks me for a password when creating a Schedule, and so does Win7.
We connect to Windows Task Scheduler via a COM+ object (supplied with Windows). Windows requires the password, we ask you for it and pass it back. If it won't accept it, sounds like a fault with the Scheduler itself. Are you able to create a Schedule (maybe to run Notepad, as a test) manually?

The point is I cannot trace any contact (regardless of 'department') between you and 2BS since 2011, possibly because I do not know where to look, and/or you may be using different user-names or emails. But I checked the obvious places...
But in any case, note how many Win8 users are not here making the same complaint? Which does suggest something specific to your PC, sorry.
