Is this not the point of Expert Mode: Cloud, Advanced - Automatically translate invalid filenames?

That said, I too am having trouble with pound sign in filenames with both Onedrive and SharePoint. Even with Automatically translate invalid filenames enabled I get error "Failed to copy from Local : invalidRequest: The request is malformed or incorrect." with filenames containing pound sign. Please add pound sign to Onedrive/SharePoint translate map.

hi,

We have a job pushing files to aws s3. Out of 10 files the first three went up no problems.. it was working on a lager one 32G, whioh took about 10 hours with our QoS when it failed.

"Failed to copy from Source: Cloud error 404: http/1.1 404 Not Found - The specified key does not exist. (NosuchKey) Stat connected"

Any idea whats going on?

Alex

Hi,

Please generate a Support Zip with debug logs for your profile and send it over to us for further investigation. Ensure that files with names containing the pound sign and percent sign are included in the execution of the profile.

Submit a support ticket by using the Contact Support in the below link in this article and attach the zip.
http://support.2brightsparks.com/knowle ... ation-file

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

Do not post (nor links to) Support Zips on this open forum.

Thanks,
Kostas

SyncBackFree (freeware) • How do I move Syncback to a new computer?

Sorry about posting a topic that's probably been discussed before, but the forum search finds all my search terms to be too common ('backup', 'computer', 'move', etc.)

I did find information on how to move the profiles, so that's not a problem. But... how do I move ALL my data? All my program preferences and such. Do I simply move the actual program folder and anything found in AppData?

Preferences menu (main GUI) > Options > Settings tab

Look at the 3rd section ('The settings are stored here') and make a note of the stated location. Click the path (it's a hyperlink) and it will open that location in Windows Explorer for you, with the file SETTINGS.INI (my caps) pre-selected. Grab a copy of this INI and place (copy) it into same location on new PC (replacing any default INI file with factory-default settings that is there ahead of you). You should probably install SBF on the new PC first to make sure the stated folders exist.

What I want:
- a folder with subfolders containing files to go to AWS S3
- if the profile runs again, the same folder/file structure (by name only) get pushed to AWS but the ones already there go to the $SBV$ folder (created by syncbackpro?)
- 7 versions of each file to be kept at one time

What I've done
- Normal backup (not fast)
- create a profile, link to source folder with subfolders/files and to AWS folder
- enable versioning "on AWS only" 7 files for 14 days

What is happening
- runs first time no problem
- run the profile repeatedly and the files are never re-copied over
- no version folder popping up on AWS

the thing is I had this working 6 months ago for test with all my versions working... but have since removed those profiles/files/folders on aws/syncnbackpro

What differences are there between the files originally copied up to S3 and the files on Source on run #2 (#3, #4, etc)? Because if there are no (obvious...) differences, they won't be re-uploaded (because they match the S3-side files already, as far as the routine Compare Options can tell). If the S3-side files are not replaced (or deleted), they won't be Versioned, and if there are no Versions present/created, then there will be no $SBV$ folder (it's created when needed, deleted when not).

If there are no differences, perhaps if you explain why you want 7 identical copies of the S3-side file/s?

Are these actually changed-content but no external indications of that (LastModified stamp, Size and Windows file attributes all unchanged)?

Some progress.

I have created a new profile which syncs just two folders.

I have run this several times (manually, scheduled etc) and the log emails fine.

SyncBackFree (freeware) • Windows 10 1709 - SBF not seeing files synced with Onedrive

Since the Windows 10 1709 update, my Syncback Free does not see any local files/folders that are defined to OneDrive cloud storage. I used to be able to use SBF to create a mirror backup to a USB drive but now SBF just wants to delete all the files from the destination as if the source files did not exist.

Local Files/folders not defined to OneDrive can be backed up as usual.

This must be a problem with Windows because I have been executing this backup once a week for years and there was never any problem.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I have a profile that compares folders on my computer to external hard drive. If it doesn't find a file on the the internal drive E then it should delete if found on external drive J. However for some reason it isn't working. When I run the profile it shows no files to delete but when I look at the folder on the external there are some files but none in the corresponding folder on the computer.

Win 10, SB Pro 8.3.6.0

Have I missed a setting somewhere?

Here's a screenshot of my settings

Hi,

The problem occurred due to the changes in the Windows 10 Fall creators update. Please download and install SyncBackFree V8 beta from here:

http://www.2brightsparks.com/assets/software/new/SyncBack_Setup.exe

Do not uninstall and reinstall, or you'll lose your profiles & settings. Just install 'over the top'.

After upgrading un-tick the option "Ignore NTFS junction points (reparse points)" from:

Modify profile > Expert > Compare Options > Attribute settings page

and re-run the profile to see if it helps?

Please refer to this forum post for additional details:

Thank you.

Hi,

Please submit a support zip with debug logs of the scan phase for further investigation. Enable the option 'Output debug information' from Preferences menu and run the profile in manual mode (ctrl + R). When the Differences Window is displayed, abort the profile run and submit the support zip as per the instructions given here:

If your Zip is over 30MB, contact us for alternate instructions, advising the actual size. Do not try to attach to the ticket!

SyncBackFree (freeware) • Windows 10 1709 - planified tasks don't start anymore

$

Hi, i've just updated my os to windows 10 1709 (64bits), with Syncback free v8.3.6.0 already installed, and now, planified tasks don't work anymore.

I still could launch backup by clicking manually on tasks in Syncback, but that's all... I've tried to change things in tasks themselves to update and validate, just in case, but nothing changed. I think it's a new issue with Windows 10 1709 (fall update) ; maybe Microsoft change something in this OS's task planifications...
Could you find a solution for that problem ?
Thanks.
